For example it would be great to be able to send to all users an update to there profile, where it tells them how many contacts they have, if they have been invited to an event, if they have unopened messages etc.

Hello jamesaa7,

All newsletter recipients get the same version of the newsletter. Only the merge vars like FNAME (firstname) and such are user specific. If you want to sent a unique newsletter to each recipient it would mean you'd have to send one campaign to each user which would totally mess up your reports page. I'm afraid neither Joomailer nor MailChimp is suitable for such newsletters.

Thanks Pete, yeah am aware that is the case currently, but following a discussion from the yesterdays webinar with yourselves & mailchimp, thought it would be good to post as a suggestion.
