How to Add Groups to Registration

I've fumbled around most of the day. Here's my issue. I have the Registration and MailChimp working correctly with adding the Name and Email Address, now I need to get the Groups I've established in MailChimp to show on the Registration page.

I've configured and selected the list in the Plugin section. I've even tried to create a FIELD in the CB manager to reflect the name of the group. It should the FIELD in the Registration but doesn't post the data to MailChimp.

Here's the example. I have a group name LOCAL. Under LOCAL i have 12 city names (all in florida).

Any ideas how I would set this up.

FYI. Once I register and login to my screen, I can click the USER DETAILS link and the group from MailChimp appears there and I can select and post to MailChimp from there. I just want that ability in the Registration page.

Thanks for your help.
Brent

To include interest groups in the signup page you would have to do the following steps.

Log into your joomla backend and go to Newsletter - Lists. Find the list you want to use and click on "Manage" in the groups column. Create a new group (and assign it to a existing Community Builder or JomSocial field).

Go to the plugin manager and open the plugin "System - Joomailer Mailchimp Signup". Select the list from the dropdown and wait for the page to refresh. Select the interests and fields you want to include in your signup page / profile page. ("Interests" stands for interest groups in this context.) Select enabled "Yes" and press Save.

This should bring up the groups on your registration page, or and submit it to MailChimp. If you assigned the groups to existing CB or JS fields it will pull the data from them and not display additional form fields.

Kind regards,
Pete

Are you saying that to allow users to register for/ select groups you need Community Builder extension as well? Can't this be done directly with joomlamailer and mailchimp subscription?

I have the same problem - 2 groups within a list (newsletter and alerts), but in registration and "manage subscriptions" the only options for users are the different lists (one of which is for a different client), not the groups within the primary list for this site.

Any help much appreciated.
