I'm interested in knowing this too as I've just created a website with Joomla 2.5 for a client and would like to integrate their MailChimp account.

I've just installed it and set it up in the latest (as of this date) Joomla 2.5.3

All appears to be working just fine !!!!

Kudos to the authors - amazing work.

My versions;
joomlamailer version:1.7.2
Joomla! version: 2.5.3
PHP version:5.2.17
MySQL version:5+

Most extensions designed to work for Joomla v 1.7 will be compatible with Joomla v 2.5, thankfully this one is included in that scenario! :-D

The Joomla project highly recommends upgrading PHP to v5.3.10 +
