Regretfully we have to announce that the Joomlamailer project will come to an end and no further development will be taking place. After more than 12 years since the first idea, almost 100.000 downloads and probably as many hours of development later, Mailchimp has decided to discontinue the partnership program and move into a different direction. We fully understand and respect this decision but we feel sorry about this nonetheless.I would like to thank Mailchimp for their support from the beginning and making this project possible. Without their help none of this would have happened and I am truly greatful for this.
Unfortunately the investment to provide a complex software suite like Joomlamailer for free while covering running costs and the required time for development and support, is no longer feasible for a small team like ours and therefore we had do come to the difficult decision to step away from this project. We still have plenty of things in the backlog, the upcoming Joomla 4 release was well under way and many exciting things were to happen. However, as it stands now, we can no longer recommend to use this software on production sites and discourage to do so. I am not aware of any other Joomla extension that offers even close to what Joomlamailer allows to do and I can only suggest to refer to the Mailchimp support for ideas how to close the gap between your Joomla site and Mailchimp in the future. We have tried our best to advocate for this project but did not manage to convince.
